San Antonio Wine Festival Competition Winners

A quick thank you to the for creating a nice . I’ve been going through the paper version of the list of winners and medalists published in the February 14 print edition looking for some interesting wines to try.

Here are a couple medalists from this year’s competition that I’m going to keep my eye out for next time I’m visiting my favorite :

2008 Cabernet Franc $10
2007 $9.99
Pacific Rim Dry Riesling $7.99
Sutter Home Family Vineyards 2008 Chenin Blanc $5.00
2008 Cabernet Sauvignon $8.00
2006 Chardonnay $6.99
2008 from Maule, Chile $9.99

Am not sure of the availability of a few of these wines. Some are very recognizable names that I’ve seen on the shelf before and have previously passed on for one reason or another. Others on the list have not been on my radar at all but look like they could be an ideal fit for what Three Nine Wine is all about — finding and trying great value wines that we’ve never heard of before.

The prices shown are the ones provided in the printed competition results.

I also created a list of wines for a shopping list and several of mychoices are on your list. I haven’t been able to find them at HEB stores or Walmart or World Market. Any luck on your end?

    Hi Marcia:

I was in the HEB at 1604 and Blanco last week and got a bottle of the Palo Alto Reserve from Chile and the Barefoot Cellars Chardonnay. I also looked for the Banfi Centine Super Tuscan and the Bella Sera Chianti but did not see them.

    Thanks.
